A time for everything

Alleluia, He is risen!

What a glorious Easter Sunday! The weather dawned bright and sunny, though a little on the cool side initially, but warming up nicely into the afternoon. We enjoyed a wonderful Easter Sunday service, with accompaniment for the anthem and opening hymn by brass and handbells. Roger and I weren’t playing handbells this morning, as we were needed more in the choir. The praise band sang a beautiful song, and then the postlude was organ and brass. We had a good congregation, and even more watching online. After the service, we came home and made a quick picnic and took it down to the riverfront to enjoy amidst all the glorious Spring blooms, before going to a matinee performance at the new Playhouse. This was the first production in the new building, and by the time we got round to trying to get tickets, about the only performance we could get two tickets together (and later a third for Laura), was today’s matinee. The performance was the musical A Chorus Line, and was excellent. Then it was back home to fix a roast lamb dinner, while Laura tuned in remotely to her choir practice in Wisconsin - they have a concert in two weeks, so she didn’t want to miss it entirely. It was lovely to hear her singing along with the video while I was getting dinner - she does have a beautiful voice. Their director chooses some really great music, some of it quite difficult. We shan’t be going up for this one, but we are going up for an event in June, which happens to coincide with Rogers birthday.
