We met at Willington at 8.30am and Dave wanted to go to Dovestone Tor, which is a bit of a drive and a long walk in, but we agreed. I hadn't climbed there before so was interested to go.

Fifty minutes of driving and an hour of walking uphill and we were at the crag. There was no one else there, but that was no surprise!

There were six of us, but we climbed in threes since two participants had only ever climbed indoors and had never lead belayed. They both did very well and this is Beth on her second outdoor route!

Gritstone is so unforgiving and it was the first time on grit this year, for us all I think, but we all had a cracking day. I was very tired by the time we got back to Fi's car and I yawned the whole way back to Willington, home by 7.30pm.
