The walk today was from Youlgrave and we - friend John gave me a lift - arrived nice and early because the village car park isn't very big. Sure enough it was soon full.

A varied and enjoyable walk, up high on the tops, down low by the river, and even lower at the site of a mine. We could climb down the steps and crank a handle to generate enough light to see down to where the miners worked. I can't believe I've never gone down the steps before, it's right by the river path.

I forgot to get my book back off Rhian, and then I took John's waterproof jacket into my house, thinking it was mine. So I had a cuppa and walked round to his with it, it's only about 5 minutes.
