FANCY HAVING A BIRTHDAY ON SILLY SATURDAY!

Hello Lovely Blippers,

I wonder if you can guess whose birthday it is today?  Mrs. HCB didn’t make a cake, but bought a salted caramel iced one, which she knows Mr. HCB likes - and can you see what she has done, which is really silly?  She has put four candles at the front of the cake and then fork handles (with pastry forks) behind them!  That is so silly, but typical of her, but dear Admirer would have loved this and she would certainly have giggled.

For those of you who don’t know about the Two Ronnies, there was a sketch on television many years ago and we think it will make you laugh.  If you already know about it then I’m sure you will agree that it is brilliant and it always makes Mr. & Mrs. HCB laugh even now.

We were a bit annoyed this morning because the HCBs decided to go to the library and we wanted to go, but Mr. HCB said there wasn’t enough room in the car - so off they went on their own.  However, they weren’t gone too long and we were delighted when we saw the cake and will probably have a slice with some hot chocolate and marshmallows, because we love them, as you all know.

They were planning to go out for lunch but then Mrs. HCB remembered that the young people from Church were doing a car wash in aid of Cancer Research, The Community Fun Day and Angel’s Orphanage in Nepal, so that’s where they will be this afternoon - and they might even watch “Minions” whilst the car is being washed and cleaned inside and out.  Sounds like a good idea to us, and we would love to go to, but not sure if we will be allowed.

Hope you all have a good weekend - we will be celebrating later with Mr. & Mrs. HCB and we are sure to sing Happy Birthday to him - if you listen carefully, you might even hear us.

Here are some interesting facts:

On this day in 1942, Mr. HCB was born in Swindon - and ALSO on this day in the very same year, as part of an austerity drive, the British Government banned the sale of embroidered or lace underwear!!

81 years later, the British Government still has difficult decisions to make - meanwhile Mr. HCB is happily retired, loves spending the day with us and is looking forward to his birthday cake!

With love to you all,
The Silly Saturday Gang xxx
