HORSE CHESTNUT

Newcastle United were playing away today against Aston Villa - early kick off at 12.30pm.  It was shown live on BT but I don't have that so I listened on Radio Newcastle.  Alarm bells were ringing after 30 seconds when Villa almost scored.  And things didn't improve.  Villa scored after 11 mins and got 2 more goals in the second half.  Final score Villa 3 Newcastle 0. Newcastle were lucky Villa didn't score more.  Villa played well.  Newcastle were terrible.  Not one of the Newcastle players put in a good performance.  A real " off day " for the team. Good job they don't have them very often.  Alan Shearer is quoted as saying " Aston Villa battered Newcastle from start to finish and were better in every position". .  But its only one game and hopefully they can turn things around in the next match.  And fortunately Spurs who could have overtaken Newcastle in the table also lost today so Newcastle still stay in 3rd position.

After the match I had a wander to the Co-op.  Weather was lovely - warm-ish and quite sunny.  Took my blip shots on the way.  There's a big horse chestnut tree just outside Becky and Neils old Primary School and its full of bright green new leaves at the moment.  Took a few shots of the leaves at different stages for my collage.
