Brown Hare Grooming

It makes a huge difference when there is some cover from which to shoot. Orkney has comparatively little in the way of hedges and such and hares etc tend to spot you miles away. I cycled out to one of the headlands outside of town and was going to walk across some moorland but decided not to as there were lots of curlews, lapwings and redshanks flying over it calling- so either nesting or busy vying for mates. So, I walked along toward a small lochan, by a drystane dyke and noticed a couple of hares not far off. Hidden from them, I was able to take quite a few shots. A couple more in extras, including a near-miss!
