Orthoceras Fossils

Something I have never blipped before, I can't think why not.  Being Saturday we were at the Lodge, fortunately, no guests were due to arrive, which will give us some time for much needed maintenance.

When we got the Lodge "The Mate" offered to make us a coffee table, Clickychick had a slab of fossils from one of our suppliers.  Being from North Africa he imported stone from the Morrocan High Atlas mountains.  The main features in this slab are the two large Orthoceras fossils.

The Orthoceras was a shellfish with a long tubular shell and a squid like head.  It would be related to the Nautilus.  The name means "straight horn".
