Out and about

This is a late posting.

We went out for a walk this morning.  It was sunny and very warm.  Afterwards we just had time to shower and change before driving into Newmarket to meet a friend for a quick catch up. We had a pleasant half hour with her then went to Urbano to pick up a side table that wasn’t in stock when they sent our delivery to go in the container.  It was a flat pack, which will be interesting for MrMacD when we get to Oamaru.

Our next port of call was the Museum where we visited the Stonehenge exhibition.  It was very interesting, with short recorded talks by experts, which made sense of the history.  We’re pleased we managed to see it.  We also saw the second T-rex, a female called Barbara, who is exhibited alongside the male T-rex, Peter.  Very impressive!

Afterwards I popped into the office to try to help with a problem, but unfortunately the template has disappeared and will need to be redone so that’s a task for someone else. We then sat in the car checking emails and texts until it was time to pick up my daughter and son-in-law.  We took them to iVillage, an Indian restaurant near Victoria Park, for a belated celebration of my son-in-law’s birthday last week and also to say goodbye before we leave on our trip.  We had a really enjoyable evening with them and the food was very good. We dropped them back home afterwards before driving out to Pakuranga.  There are bus services from Pakuranga into the city, but they take a long time and it would have been difficult to use public transport for the journeys we made today.

The main shows two different views of Peter and Barbara, the first extra is the Mercury building and the lighting inside the café where we had lunch, the second extra is the Basket Chat we had for a starter and two views of the restaurant decoration.
