Hatched

We really didn't expect that any self-respecting frog would risk swimming in our neglected and toxic pond but we discovered that a lump of spawn had appeared as if by magic. We then realised that the three otters hunting during the wee small hours of the 13th knew that there were frogs to be had and duly ate them.

I divided the spawn between cleaner tubs of water, containing a supply of pondweed (or just weed), and waited to see if the spawn was viable. So far it is, but frost is forecast... .
