A Morning in May

The church that you can see in the distance is St David's church, Laleston. This photo was taken about 500 yards from were I live.
The church which is central to the village shows 13th & 14th century designs, though much work has been carried out since it's earliest period.
The church is standard in plan with a west tower, nave, & lower chancel, but the tower interior is in the perpendicular gothic style. The church of St David is now a Grade 1 listed building, while the churchyard cross is Grade 11.
Laleston village lies just 2 miles from the centre of Bridgend & includes 3 public houses. The Mackworth arms (1800) The Laleston Inn (1600) & the(Oystercatcher) (1500) There is also an hotel & restaurant at the historic Great House which was built in 1586 for Sir Robert Sidney who later became Earl of Leicester in 1618.
The village also boasts a well which was the main water supply right up until 1928.
