Turf House

We left Edinburgh this morning after saying goodbye to Frances. She showed us around the sports and exercise complex where she works at Heriot-Watt University. It certainly is an amazing facility and is used by the Scottish national rugby and football teams (both men's and women's teams) as well as Hearts football team.

We drove north and west through gradually increasing rain and my blip is of the accommodation where we're now staying. It's nice and quiet apart from the noise  (and smell) of the cattle in the back half.

No, I'm telling fibs. This is actually a replica 17th-century turf house which has been built at the Glencoe visitor centre where we stopped for a cup of tea this afternoon. It does look quite splendid in this envionment - a des res with parking for two ox carts!

We're now settled in to the Hollytree Hotel at Kentallen where John and I stayed last December after our trip to Harris and Lewis. Unfortunately after the lovely weather we've had it seems to have closed in now and looks to remain fairly wet for the next few days. We'll just have to hope the weather may be better than the forecast.
