Cold War relic

I've blipped this structure before but with the gorse in such glorious bloom I felt it needed to be photographed for this week's Wide on Wednesday challenge (hosted by BobsBlips - thanks Bob).

The theme this week is 'Broken/Run Down' and this Royal Observation Corps Orlit B post certainly fit's that brief. It probably dates from 1951/52 when the powers that be thought there might be a need for increased protection from enemy aircraft in case the rising tensions between the US and the Soviet Union led to hostilities. It's situated on the edge of the first fairway of Teignmouth Golf Club looking out to sea. That was 70 years ago, funny how it all comes round again.
