The Junco Nest

The resident Juncos tried building a nest behind the porch light fixture, and in several containers and I thought that they had abandoned the nest in this container so had sort of buried it when I re-planted a few days ago. Then I saw the eggs this morning and was worried that I’d frightened away the parents. But coming home tonight one flew out as I approached the door (it’s literally 2’ from the front door). So hopefully all will be ok. But I’ll have to keep the kitties inside after the eggs hatch. Just when I’d finally gotten the courtyard kitty safe! The Juncos seem to have a bad habit of building nests close to humans. But super fun to see!
