Lewisia

An alpine plant from the mountains of Washington and Oregon states in Northwestern U.S.A.

It was named after Meriwether Lewis who discovered it in 1806.
Many will know of the famous Lewis and Clark expedition which was sent from St. Louis to explore the north west of the continent and find a route to the Pacific.

It seems happy in my greenhouse and survived the December low temperatures well.
