THE BACK PAGE

Another Sunday afternoon match for Newcastle United.  Same kick off time as last week ... 2pm.  Their opponents today were Southampton who are the team at the bottom of the Premiership.  Wor Flags provided a huge flag which was unfurled in the Leazes Stand and they also put small flags under random seats around the ground.  I was lucky to find a flag under my seat today and I enjoyed waving it before kick off. 

Newcastle had quite a few goal chances in the first half but just couldn't get the ball in the net.  The first goal came on 41st minute and it was scored by Southampton.  Newcastle were much better in the second half and scored three goals so the final score was Newcastle 3 Southampton 1.  Great to see another win at St James Park.  Newcastle stay in 3rd position in the table.

My blip shot shows The Back Page.  It sells lots of sport related items including T Shirts, Football Shirts, Books, Football programmes, Greetings Cards, Gifts and Memorabilia.  As well as football related items it also sells things connected to other sports  - rugby, golf, cricket, horse racing ... and more. Its always busy on match days.  They have another branch in The Metrocentre.

I have added a couple of Extras - one shows a view of the football ground and the other is of the scarf seller.  He had Bruno Guimarães scarves for sale today.  I used the " Colour Pencil " filter for today's photos.

The weather was warm at first but then it turned a bit chilly and we had some rain too.
