A Day In The Life

Before and After

We drove into Waterfront Park where the boat landing is for the first time since the flooding. The grass was mushy and muddy, and some of the walkways were roped off because of a thick layer of mud. The river was high but thankfully running within its banks • When not familiar with an area it’s hard to appreciate how deep the water was after receiving 5 inches of rain in less than 24 hours. I thought a comparison of this sign might be helpful. The granite posts on either side are 6 feet tall. The flooded image was taken on Tuesday afternoon, while the other image was taken today. It’s hard to imagine Waterfront Park was flooded with over 5 feet of water! Even though we saw it with our own eyes, it’s still unbelievable! • It’s Cinco de Mayo! We are celebrating with soft tacos, guacamole and a cold beer :) • Happy Friday, Happy Weekend!
