Morning walk before leaving Cuenca

We were mostly ready by 9am and had out yogurt and fruit for breakfast sitting in the square. We took it with us and sat on the steps in the sun.

Then We had a walk down by the horrible scary bridge and the hanging houses bit. The bus arrived at the square at 1030 taking us to the railway station in the outskirts of town. It’s a fairly new station that serves the electric high speed train between Madrid and Valencia (which takes 2 hours). We were travelling around 200mph at some points of the journey. Wow! Trains are wide and comfy. You have to book a seat on these services and we were in different coaches.

Arrived in Valencia at 12:30 and a 20 minutes walk to our apartment for 5 nights. It was too early to get in so we stopped off for a lunch in the Bastard Coffee and Food. Delicious.

We got in apartment at 3 and it’s a big high ceiling apartment on a palm tree lined street about 15 min walk from the old town.

Freshened up, unpacked and headed out for a wander. Also at the supermarket for some supplies. The old town is beautiful many different styles of architecture but we weren’t late back as EXHAUSTED!
