Grumpy Old Man

Hedging your bets

Today began wet - and got wetter! We'd been invited to lunch by Mrs M's cousin - he and his wife were celebrating their Golden Wedding - in a hotel in Meikleour, in Perthshire. Ten of us enjoyed lunch and a chat. Meikleour is mostly famous for its very tall roadside beech hedge, planted in 1745 and 530m long and 30m high - my Blip today. "The longest hedge in Britain and the tallest of its kind in the world". The weather improved the further east we drove, but the rain eventually caught up with us.

A 210 mile return journey, but it was good fun. My extra today is of a herd of Belted Galloway cattle, including  young 'uns, in a field just outside Crieff. Beautiful animals!

A similar trip tomorrow, but in a different direction!
