Islands in the sun

A damp start to the day, but it's turned out warm and sunny. William the joiner began in full waterproofs, but very soon shed them!

I've spent a large part of the day outside, clearing out the deck planters and refilling them with the bedding plants I bought the other day. Not very horticultural, maybe, but it will be colourful for most of the summer.

I wrote the latest of my Scotland's Gardens Schemes Blogs too - this month my choice was Euphorbia mellifera, so I've used the photograph I took this morning as my Blip today. A lovely shrub with amazing honey-scented flowers, quite hardy in the neck of the woods given a sunny site, though maybe not in colder places. It's a native of Madeira and the Canary Islands.
