If you can't beat them...

Tulip

My 6 monthly dental check up was this morning.  I normally ask for as early as possible to be able to make the best of the day, for some reason which I forget today, it was mid morning.  To me that results in half a day gone, no time to settle to anything before you have to head into town and no time to do much before lunch.

In the afternoon I fixed the new brackets for the hanging brackets and put up the house number on the garage.  Getting the number level proved tricky, getting the drill accurately started in Barra Harl roughcast is surprisingly difficult.

A year or two ago we brought some plants back from Rachel's garden in Sheffield. One of them must have had a tulip bulb among the roots as this bright red one appears among them every year.  It isn't until the flower is well past its best that the striking inside is really revealed.  By then the fallen pollen is speckling the black parts.  Still an extremely striking patter.
