Kaybees Bits

Tala - The Bengal.

We met her this morning while she was out with a walk with her owner going round Kinclaven Wood.in Perthshire.
She is a very well travelled cat - as testified by her Instagram page. Sometimes she is on a lead, but that is more when teaching her younger housemate how to behave when out out walking (she was in her carrier on her owners back when we met). She even goes paddle boarding.
'Just in case' she wears a tracker, but she is very vocal and keeps her owner up to date of everything so she has never been lost.

We set off to see the bluebells after Squirrel headed off to school.
It was a glorious morning although the breeze had a bit at of a chill to it at first.
We had gone to see the best bluebell wood in Scotland but were a few days too early to see them at their best. I think a week to ten days will see them at their best - but one of the Woodland Trust staff thinks Friday will see it.. We met him as he was going round putting up notices telling people not to walk through the flowers and stay on the paths. It takes 7 years for a bluebell bulb to go from bulb to flower and they are very susceptible to damage which mean no photosynthesis so the bulb dies.

The wood may not have been as blue as we had hoped, but it was still a lovely sight and a very nice walk, although some of the big/huge oak and beech trees were down since we we last there - mainly due to storms apparently.

I took all sorts of pictures, including macro shots of flies and beetles and dead trees.

After we had walked round the wood we went and had lunch at the Stewart Tower Dairy. As usual it was superb (all made on the premises to order). SWMBO had a smoked salmon salad and I had a steak burger. Of course we finished t off with a scoop of their home made ice-cream (I am sure it is the law to do so) .... Strawberry & Pineapple for me and Chocolate for SWMBO.
The whole time we were in the place there was constant toing and froing by Sparrows into the eves of the building. When I went out to have a look it was pretty apparent there are loads of nests.

There are a load of pictures over here
