LIKE LAWN.... ie ARTIFICIAL

Went to Neils this afternoon to keep Luna company for a couple of hours.  She was very " barky " today mainly due to there being gardeners in the street with noisy lawnmowers and also lot of other people coming and going.  She was straight to the window and barking as usual  when she saw the little girl who lives next door arrive home from school.  Luna loves this little girl and the feeling is mutual. When she spots Luna she gives a big smile and waves to her.  If she's playing outside Luna is sometimes allowed to join her for a bit of fun.

I didn't go to the Metrocentre after I left Neils as I had a parcel to collect at Tesco in my village so I got a bus straight there. Got my parcel - and some food shopping and walked home. 

The weather was rainy this morning, dry, warm and sunny this afternoon and rainy again this eveing. 

The Mono Monday theme today is " modern". Thanks to ApolloFly for hosting. As I was passing the recently opened carpet shop in Swalwell on the way to Neils I spotted this " fake " grass display in the window and thought it might fit the theme.  It seems to be a growing modern trend to have fake grass lawns.  I decided to check them out online.

    Astro turf has a big carbon foot print from manufacture, transport and installation.    
    Astro turf kills soil life beneath it
    Fake lawns have no wildlife benefit whatsoever
    Plastic lawns can overheat in summer making them unusable
    Fake lawns need cleaning and maintaining
    Fake lawns can cause surface run off contributing to flooding
    Not as Long-Lasting as Natural Grass
    Plastic grass can’t or won’t be recycled

Artificial grass gets a NO from me.
