Gently down the stream

The Emperor

This is the emperor moth, the largest and most magnificent of the British moths.  I saw it today in The New Forest (and as you can see, I wasn't eaten by a pony - haha).  In extras is a shot of its almost equally magnificent underside.

So, I went there with the Butterfly Conservation group I've been sharing adventures with the last two or three weeks.  We had a very lovely day with the sunshine lasting must longer than forecast.  And now I truly am pooped, so tired I'm afraid I will be giving out results for the WFW23_06 challenge in my journal tomorrow instead of today as I'd intended.

I hope your day's been as much fun as mine has.  Take care  xx
