My day

Lunch

…in the caravan. We have only eaten out once this trip (dinner last night). We pull up on the side of the road and this was today’s offering.

Today we drove from Hay to Wentworth where we are camped in our friend’s front garden. There is also their truck, a horse float and assorted vehicles in the yard. Pixie, their JR terrier, was not pleased when we drove in. Once the children came home from school she warmed to us immediately and checked out the caravan.

We had long stretches of open highway (Sturt and Silver City Highways) with a few small towns. Not much traffic to start but as we got closer to Mildura (south of the state border) there were heaps of trucks on the way up to Broken Hill. My friend works at the HealthOne (state run community health centre) and we called to say hello as we were going past. I had a tour of the building which was interesting. My last visit here was in an official capacity and I went to the old facility. My friend was doing a Telehealth consultation with a patient in a town  2 hours east and the specialist doctor who was in Melbourne. Health services are few and far between in this region.

Travelling makes me tired.
