Himmelfahrt

The title of this blip translates as ‘trip to heaven’, better known as Ascension.
Ascension Day is a public holiday here, often celebrated in a not-so-pious way as Fathers Day, which results in lots of guys (not necessarily fathers) dragging handcarts full of beer crates and blaring ghetto blasters through the countryside, while steadily emptying said crates.

Nevertheless, B and I went for a walk this afternoon. We had to dodge a few groups of wannabe fathers, but enjoyed the walk through the vineyards in sunshine and pleasant temperatures.

Back in our street, we went for a drink at the local vintner’s, where P joined us for a chat on the sunny terrace, overlooking the Rhine valley (which I forgot to blip, so I went for a selection of flowers from our garden instead: Viburnum or snowball, aquilegia, peony and daisies).

This morning, I’ve been to the gym as well, making up for the last two days without exercise.  When I came home, P had already made a lovely brunch for us.

All in all, a really good day.
