An ordinary life....

G8 Summit ready....

Today has been a day of unwrapping garden furniture.  OMG!  It was so well packed!  Not complaining as it all arrived safely but it took forever to release from its confines of cardboard.  D and I both commented on how little plastic there was in the packaging with about 95% of it being recyclable.

I wasn't convinced it would arrive today.  We only ordered it on Tuesday and although the website said delivery in two days, we are counted as being in the Highlands when it comes to deliveries (ridiculous given we are 20 minutes north of Stirling and 40 minutes from Glasgow!) but just after lunch the lorry arrived and there it all was.  You can see how happy David was at getting to the end of the unpacking in extras! :-)

I am so happy, as this now means we have chairs in the garden with arms that I can easily get in and out of.  The round table and chairs that we have had for the last few years are great but not easy for me to use on my own, which was a bit restricting.  Still to fit the Lazy Susan to the table and the parasol.  That can be a job for Saturday.

Since the old garden dining set is still in working order, we asked Alan's team if anyone was interested in having it.  Four said they were so we put their names in a hat and had a live draw this afternoon.  It was hilarious.  The whole team tuned in remotely, it was like a national lottery draw!  And the winner was Blake.  He was over the moon and a bit gobsmacked as he says he's never won anything in his life!  :-))  Thankfully there's tons of boot space in Alan's new van car, so we will be able to drop it off to his house.

The golfers are out playing locally tomorrow so my fellow golf widows are getting dropped off here and we will go out for coffee, then out to the golf club for dinner in the evening.  David will be the token male at the dinner table as the rest are Patrick Thistle fans and are heading off straight after the round to Firhill.  We might even get the chance to try out the new garden furniture!  :-))
