The venue is roasting. The talks are in a windowless basement. But there are some good topics.

I’m tired and go for a lie down, but all too soon it’s time to head off for dinner. The restaurant is not far, but there are more of us than there is space for. We squeeze in somehow.

This menu has almost no vegetarian options. I discard my pretensions and indulge in fine french carnivorous cuisine. A snail concoction to start followed by tournedos of beef with foie gras and cheese to finish.

A few of us stay on for a whisky, until the sight of the waiter waiting for us to go becomes too much to bear. A relatively early night.
