Edmygu'r olygfa ~ Admiring the view

“Art should be like a holiday: something to give a man the opportunity to see things differently and to change his point of view.”
― Paul Klee

Aethon ni am dro arall heddiw. Y tro hwn cerddon ni o gwmpas Kilmersdon. Yn gyntaf gyrron ni i ymweld â Julie a Phil ac yna aeth Julie â ni o gwmpas yr ardal. Ymwelon ni â choetiroedd ac ystadau, twr rhyfedd a gwelon ni golygfa odidog. Mae Julie yn fotanegydd ac roedd e'n dda iawn i glywed am y planhigion yn yr ardal - roedd fel cael tywys arbenigol.

Ar yr Ystâd Ammerdown mae twr rhyfedd gydag yr enw Jolliffe Column. Cafodd e ei adeiladu ym 1853 fel coffadwriaeth i Thomas Samuel Jolliffe. Yn wreiddiol roedd cromen wydr ar ei ben a gallech chi ddringo'r golofn ac yn eistedd yna i edmygu'r olygfa. Roedd Julie yn nabod rhywun oedd wedi bod i fyny yno, ond yn anffodus nid yw hyn yn bosibl nawr. Serch hynny roedd golygfa wych o lefel y ddaear o hyd.

Ar ôl ein hantur aethon ni'n ôl i dŷ Thrin-lé i gael prynhawn tawel.

We went for another walk today. This time we walked around Kilmersdon. First we drove to visit Julie and Phil and then Julie took us around the area. We visited woodlands and estates, a strange tower and saw a magnificent view. Julie is a botanist and it was really good to hear about the plants in the area - it was like having an expert guide.

On the Ammerdown Estate there is a strange tower called the Jolliffe Column. It was built in 1853 as a memorial to Thomas Samuel Jolliffe. Originally there was a glass dome on top and you could climb the column and sit there to admire the view. Julie knew someone who had been up there, but unfortunately this is not possible now. However there was still a great view from ground level.

After our adventure we went back to Thrin-lé's house to have a quiet afternoon.
