Bird mural

Sunday
After a good morning at church, celebrating Pentecost, and marking the last Sunday the choir as a whole will sing until after the summer break, we came home and had quite a long chat on the phone with my brother Peter and his wife Judy. We hadn’t spoken to them for a while, and in the meantime they had been on a cruise of the Scottish islands, so they were telling us all about that. They were fortunate with the weather on the whole, though unfortunately they were unable to land on Iona, due to heavy swells. Then we went cycling on the bike trail, south from the Milford trailhead. The weather by now was still very warm, but had clouded over, and looked a little threatening, but fortunately we managed to stay dry! I just did 12 miles, but I did manage the highest average speed so far this year, so I was happy with that. Th mural in my blip was near the trailhead,so while Roger was putting the bikes on the car, I popped across the road, to take a few pictures. The mural was completed two years ago to celebrate the art and legacy of the late master artist John Ruthven, an internationally recognized wildlife artist, naturalist, author, lecturer and philanthropist.
