PAENOIA LACTIFLORA

Or in other words, Chinese Peony, Garden Peony etc.

A busy day today.  Have to take both cars in to have the air conditioning sorted out.  My little Nicky Note is the most expensive as that has to have other work done.

First thing we took our little Suzuki into Flookburgh to have this done.  It had to be there by 8.30 am.  We thought as we were up and about and we hadn't yet had breakfast, apart from a coffee, we might as well go to the little garden centre in Cark for Rob to get some plants and seeds he wanted.

Well it's a long time since I;ve visited and my goodness what a change to the cafe.  It used to be in a hut out the back.  Now it's a beautiful new cafe with lovely views to the hills and the cemetary below.  The food is delicious.  A small menu but so well done.  It has many seats outside if you want and they welcome dogs.

The food is cooked fresh to order, hubby had a bacon butty - well it was a bacon doorstep really but fresh bread from a local bakery.  I had a small muffin with bacon and egg.  I decline the Cumberland sausage as well as that would have been too much.  It was cooked perfectly and was just the right size portion for  me.

The have a small but good breakfast menu, a smaller brunch menu and a reasonable lunch menu.  All fairly standard lunch type food but all really well done and delicioius.  It opens at 8.30 am and has a faciliies.  So I'm going to investigate local walks.

A lovely find and I will go back.  Avoid weekends and busy times though as it is very popular apparently, however on a Thursday at breakfast time, there was just us and two other guys come in.

Afterwards we went into Grange to go to the Furness Building Society to do some banking business.  It's so good to have that type of service in Grange as there are no banks now, apart from a fortnightly mobile bank.  We make sure use the Furness so that the service stays here.

Then for a quick walk to show Rob the gardens I found yesterday that used to be part of the now defunct care home and to see this beautiful peony.

That's all from me for now, do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
