Wound up in Wexford

Queen Victoria?

We've had a lovely day.  Despite the exertions yesterday, and a rather fragmented night, I woke feeling pretty chipper.

After breakfast, we set to and erected the frame for the swinging seat.  Then we had a snack, before driving to just south of Wexford.  Ostensibly, this was for me to play a flute.  But 2 of the 4 potential quartet players dropped out last night - sick dog, sick human.  I still took flutes, but in the end we had such a sociable time that fluting took a back seat.

S and T showed us around their lovely garden, then took us to Lady's Island, where there are lots of nesting terns.  We had a lovely amble - though the wind was quite sharp.  T told us that, the first time he saw this piece of derelict wall, he wondered why they had a statue of Queen Victoria.

We returned to their house via a brief stop at Tacumshane windmill.  Then we had tea, and a lovely carrot cake.  By this time, the muscles I used yesterday climbing up and down a stepladder to paint a ceiling were starting to protest.  And by the time we had stopped off in Wexford for essential supplies in Lidl (though the most important item, oat milk, was not found), I was almost unable to walk.

Hopefully it will ease off overnight, as we plan to do some grass cutting.
