Go Fly a Kite

Another busy day on the beach. It does seem to get less like a zoo, the further you go towards Joppa. Another remarkable turnaround in today's football. Thistle seemed to be cruising at 1-0, and 3-0 on aggregate, with 20 minutes of normal time to go. Then County scored a VAR-awarded penalty and another a minute later. The equaliser came in injury time and after a nerve-shredding penalty shootout for both sets of fans, County won 5-4 to ensure their survival and bring Thistle's apparently inevitable charge to promotion to an end. At the time, it seemed that 2-0 up against ten men in the first leg should have been the foundation for a bigger win. County no doubt saw the 0-2 defeat as a success, with no more goals conceded in the second half, and so it proved. I guess it might give my Hamburg-supporting friend R some hope for their play-off tomorrow, 0-3 down from the first leg.
