Mossy Saxifrage

We had two tasks to do this morning:-  (1). clear a narrow border of a huge sedge and saxifrages that would come out with it, then we can park the caravan back in place and (2) tidy the patio for a barbeque and plant the removed mossy saxifrage in the gaps between the paving stones on the patio.

Some saxifrage had already made its home in the patio and had formed a dense mat stopping weed seeds from getting in so I thought I'd try to replicate this.

In the afternoon, at the Social Club, we had a talk and demonstration by a First Aider on the use of the village defibrillator. It was good to have it explained to us in this calm situation in case we were ever in the panicky state of having to dial 999 and get the code for it. It helped us think through who we would send to the middle of the village for it while someone else carried out CPR to keep the blood circulating to the patient's brain.

He also told us that this is to be used when a patient's heart has gone into fibrillation and their breathing is non-existent or very strange in its sound in an unresponsive person with heart failure, NOT when they are suffering the symptoms of a heart attack.
