Intimacy gives us a different way of seeing, when visual acuity is not enough—Robin Wall Kimmerer.

This image made us both double over laughing, and I first thought I would just post it with no explanation, but Sue feared some might think she had fallen, so I will explain.

We discovered, in trying to explore the mosses in Sue’s back garden, inspired by Kimmerer, that we still can’t see them. We don’t have the necessary tools. That meant some internet research, and more laughter as we encountered a great many terms that are new to us. 

Sue has now ordered from a local supplier (not from Jeff Bezos & company) a Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet Magnifier, 10X power, 1 inch focal distance, 15.8 mm lens diameter, for $55. We will report back once we have acquired the tool and given it a run.
