Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

MUD!

BC Hydro is improving their road on the island, part of which goes across our property. The poor excavator guy, Dean, comes from Nanaimo (because he is "the best") and has been working for 3 days straight in constant rain! Much harder to smooth mud than dry dirt. He still has to make some drainage ditches and break up some rock. Maybe 3 more days worth. Supposed to rain tomorrow too. He has to leave early to catch a ferry to Saltspring and get a ride from BC Hydro boat to here and back so it's a long day for him. (It's always inconvenient to work on an island.,).. We walked up to see how it was going and he very kindly moved a big flat rock for me that I've been wanting to make into a sundial because it's the only place where there would be constant sun IF there was any sun at all. It's a bit of a mess right now but we'll be happy in the winter when they need to come fix a power outage!

Had a wonderful rainy afternoon working in the studio -all those windows are now clean, (in the rain!!) and the collections of rocks, shells, feathers and bones put back in place on the windowsills..:-) Plus some mosaics....
