Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

A Lookey Lou Day

All day the sky, the clouds, the land, and every angle of our view have been mesmerizing. Doing anything else but just lookey lou has been almost impossible. So this photo is from the upstairs backyard deck. There are no jacaranda trees like the one yesterday in the front yard, but the shrubs, bushes, and trees in the creek are a lovely green.

All day the sun has acted like a spotlight as it came through openings in the clouds and highlighted different places across this landscape. Just a little while ago the last rays of the day accentuated the south end of Main Street with its tall tower (of satellite dishes) and the shadows stretched across much of the western side of town.

We love looking at this geography. It is the place where we grew-up and have spent our lives. It's where our children were conceived, birthed, and raised. It's the place the two of us refer to as home. We know the less traveled streets, the short-cuts, the neighborhood parks, and much of the history. It's where we've had our daydreams and our nightmares; our ordinary everyday stories have been composed here. As we've walked the sidewalks, bicycled the paths, and driven its streets, this place has left its imprint on us.

This first Saturday in June we were thankful to be here to view the beauty of this place, and now we offer it to you. Until next time,

Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol

P.S. A minor edit, I thought we had grown-up here, but Mr. Fun has just told me that he has set-up his tent on the deck and thinks we ought to sleep out there tonight. We'll work on growing-up tomorrow. That's why he's called Mr. Fun!
