Wibble Wobble

This is a section of a narrow rope bridge crossing a stream at Sacrewell Farm, near Peterborough. A family of four little wrens were hopping and flying around it as I approached, but they soon hid themselves in the trees.

We spent much of the day there today, taking a picnic to join our daughter and children. There seemed to be very few other visitors, although plenty of cars in the car park. Perhaps this reflects the size of the place and its diversity. This photo and the Extra were around the old mill area. The watermill has at least one stone dating back to 43AD - the year of the Roman invasion.

It was tremendously hot and the sun so dazzling that it triggered a migraine aura, which a tablet helped alleviate. Result: only a mild headache.

We drove home through a thunderstorm, fork and sheet lightning, and thunder crashing directly overhead. The raindrops were so big and the rain so heavy, we drove through torrents and 'rivers'. And when we arrived home, had a drop fallen on our garden? No! It remains bone-dry.

Thanks to Carolina for hosting the Mono Monday challenge with this week's theme of 'simplicity'.
