Despite the heatwave, these lilies seem to be thriving. I have been watering all the tubs but the others are definitely looking a lot more “wilty” than this one.
It is actually a little cooler today, but not by much. Mrs C is finally leaving the Hebrides today but she has six hours at the airport to get through first as they have opted to wait for the late afternoon Glasgow flight rather than take the lunchtime flight to Edinburgh and then have to make their way across country.
The only drawback to this plan is that they are going to miss the last train back to Kendal that the return train tickets are allegedly valid for. It’s going to be a case of either hoping their tickets will be accepted or having to shell out for a new ticket.
Either way, she won’t be back in time to come with me to see Bonnie Raitt in Manchester. I’ve found a friend who is free at short notice so Mrs C’s ticket won’t go to waste. It does mean I might not get to speak to her properly until tomorrow morning though!
