Sally Mair - Loving life

Start them young!

A cooler day today although the promised rain didn't really come to much. Just as well really as there were a huge number of events on today, galas, fairs etc. which rain would have spoiled.
Ali and Josie came with me to the Davidson's Mains gala day. Lots of fun in the grounds of Lauriston Castle. Josie was particularly taken with some ponies giving rides. We decided she was a little young for that this year. Sadly we didn't spot the alpacas who were also on display.
Ali and I checked out the churros and can confirm that those tasted good!
Ali and Josie are staying the night here as daddy is having some friends round to watch the football. He has been taking Josie to toddler football classes at a sport centre near here and she is thoroughly enjoying them. She normally wears a mini Hibs strip to go there. Today though, as it was a special occasion, one of his friends bought her a toddler sized Scotland strip so now she and mummy match! Clearly their support was all that was needed to see Scotland victorious! I have to admit to taking the opportunity to sing the Norwegian National Anthem at the beginning thanks to that visit from King Olav in 1962 - why is it that such things, learned so long ago, can still come leaping to the front of the brain when triggered?
