SURPRISE, SURPRISE AND ALL THE BEST TEAM LEIGHTONS

Hello Lovely Blippers,

Leighton here - I’m sure you are surprised to see some of us again so soon, but Mr. HCB was due to go into Leightons to have his ears sorted out - we won’t go into the details, but suffice to say that it took Adam longer than he thought.

Whilst he was having that done, Mrs. HCB was busy chatting with one or two of the lovely ladies from Leightons and found out that some of them, including Adam - who I hasten to add is not a lady - were doing the Starlight Walk on Saturday evening, starting at 9 p.m.  This will be in aid of Prospect, our local Hospice, and they will be walking 10 km - starting at the Swindon Town Football Club and finishing back there - as it is a circular route.  We think they are very brave and wish we could go with them - I should have volunteered anyway, as my name is Leighton - I wonder if I should offer to go with them?

I’m sure that Mr. & Mrs. HCB will be sponsoring them and we wanted to show our appreciation of what they are doing so here we are - sitting on Lauren’s desk, with one of the tee shirts that the Team will be wearing on the night.

You can see we are all holding little packets that say “Grow Wild!” - you probably realise that the HCBs are already growing wild flowers in their garden and that Mrs. HCB is a little wild herself, so we brought some of these packs home and hope that they grow so that when they  do, they will remind us of the Leightons’ Team and this amazing feat that they are undertaking.  We have looked online to find out how long it will take the Team to walk 10 km and according to Mr. Google “10 kilometres is just over six miles - that might sound long, but most people can walk it in under two hours - just like a stroll in the countryside!”

We certainly hope that none of the Team suffers from the following phobias and although we won’t be there on Saturday night, we will be cheering them on anyway - having looked at the route though, we could go out and cheer for them quite near to where we live - we will discuss that with the HCBs!

Belonephobia: Fear of pins and needles
Noctiphobia: Fear of the night
Nyctophobia: Fear of the dark

GO WILD TEAM LEIGHTONS AND DO YOUR VERY BEST!
