PP Poppy Week

My title began as World Poppy Week. Then, via British Poppy Week, it changed to Lincolnshire Poppy Week, and finally, more realisitically, I settled on the above. So - I give you poppies again! This garden is full of them, and today these deep purple ones opened - yet another new variety - to mingle with the old faithful reds. Aren't they magnificent? If you look closely, you may spot a bee who agrees!

It's been so hot today. I did some garden jobs, but it was simply too hot to do anything labour-intensive. That said, Mr PP bravely cut the grass again. It shot up after the rain, and would rapidly become too much for his wonky hip to cope. The job is aggravated by the ground being so uneven. But it's the price we pay for the lovely view. (Distant rumbling thunder later gave us just a few drops of rain, but soon back to sunshine.)
