A No-Go

The gloomy Icelandic weather continues to haunt us today in Vestmannaeyjar.  We are at anchor about two miles away from the little harbour where our Zodiacs would have been ferrying us, but the very thick fog this morning, accompanied by quite a bit of wind and big swells made it too dangerous to attempt a landing.

The weather has deteriorated since then, with increasingly higher winds and waves, even though the fog has lifted somewhat.  So, a "sea day" of sorts.

There is a French Ponant cruise ship here as well (they were also with us yesterday in Djupivogur).  They are anchored not far from us, but as you can see in the extra, she looks more like a ghost ship!
