Nicky and her Nikon

Hot summer's day

Gavin and I did a long walk with Xena this morning, it was about 2 hours and it was very hot. We stopped off to get iced coffees from the kiosk at the station but they had run out of ice so we had flat whites instead.

I then decided to try the new Auto Capture feature on my camera. I fille dup the bird feeders and set my camera up on a tripod but no birds came - maybe the camera was putting them off. Oh well I will try again another day.

Gavin went into the village to get some things but the internet was down in the village so purchases could only be made using cash, as chip and pin or Apple Pay were not working. No one carries cash anymore these days so he came home without anything. Many shops/cafes don't even accept cash anymore.

Its a really hot weekend for the Glastonbury music festival - no longer the mud bath of years gone by, when wellies were essential. Tomorrow is forecast to be 30C and Adam is running a half marathon in Richmond Park, it would probably be equivalent of running at 40C for those in the hot southern hemisphere countries as we don't cope with the heat here in the UK!
