Day at a Time

Black Headed Gull

It was an uncomfortably humid night so it was no hardship to get up early to enjoy the dry morning. We set off for Linlithgow to meet our friends S&J who stay in Edinburgh. A good mid way point. Had coffee, walked round the loch, had more coffee and parted ways just before the rain started. Very good to see them.  On the water were herring gulls, swans, coots, moorhens, mallards and  handsome  black headed gulls. Much dainter than the other bruiser gulls.

Home now and awaiting the Glasgow family. They've been camping at Loch Lomond this weekend and had a beautiful day yesterday but must be damp now. Our grandson will be staying for his sleepover and I imagine will need a bath before bed.

The rain is forecast to go through by the evening which will be pleasant. The very hot weather has gone though. A pity for the start of the school holidays but it was ever thus.
