An ordinary life....

A day of friends...

One of the reasons we were keen to holiday in Wiltshire is we have friends in the area.

We've already met up with Blip Pal Withers and Po in Cirencester last Monday and this morning we returned to Cirencester meet our friend Jann (ex-work colleague of D) who moved back down south five years ago.  So lovely to see her.  We couldn't believe it's been five years since our last get together.

After a brief wander we ended up in the same cafe as last week.  No hardship as it's lovely.  My cheese, tomato and red onion toastie was lovely.  As was the banana and peanut butter cake we enjoyed with coffee afterwards :-)

All too quickly our time together was over.  Jann is hoping to get to Scotland next year so hopefully not too long till we see her.

Got back to the Calf Shed at 5pm so plenty time to get freshened up before heading along to the Royal Oak at Swallowcliffe  for 6.30pm to meet up with friends Drew and Audrey.  A great evening with them.  Last saw Drew in 2021 when he was at Gleneagles on business but hadn't seen Audrey for five years so lovely to see her.

Had a great catch up with them over a delicious meal in lovely surroundings.  If you are ever in the area I can definitely recommend The Royal Oak at Swallowcliffe.  So glad Gillie, the owner of the Calf Shed, told us about it.

All too soon it was time to say goodbye to them but just before we did Drew surprised us by inviting D to play a round of golf at Wentworth tomorrow.  We were supposed to be going to Bath but there is no way I would deny D the chance to play there!  Plus the change of plan means I get to have a last painting day in this wonderful little Calf Shed so win/win.

Two more days to go.
