Mix

In a few areas, the park staff have abandoned formal planting for the more economical measure of scattering a wildflower seed mix. 

The plants that come up here bear no relation to those in the  larger, more natural wildflower meadow area elsewhere in the park that I usually survey for butterflies, but they are pretty enough. I guess that’s the function of an ornamental bed, but I never see butterflies on them.
