yucca

It always surprises me to see a Yucca flowering well in our damp and very temperate climate. But out of the 49 species there are a few that can tolerate frost and do quite well here.

But their primary areas for growing in the wild are Central America, especially Mexico and the South West of the U.S.A.
They are quite versatile and will grow in both lush semi-tropical areas and in semi deserts.

When seen in a garden in Arnside they certainly catch the eye.
