Tough Day

We were packed and at the church by 10:00. To see Fr. Bill in that casket, just seemed so impossible. Folks came from all over the country to join us in saying farewell. I was pleased that my children and their spouses were with me. My grandson Mancil and granddaughter Brooklyn were able to set up the live stream and watch the funeral with my mother. She was most appreciative. There, of course, were several Franciscan Friars and Nuns paying their respects. Fr. Donald, who has served as the chaplain of the Maryland KofC, spent time with hubby and me; another good man. The music chosen was very meaningful. Having a bagpiper play the “Amazing Grace” brought intense emotions. The eulogy was spot on, describing Bill’s life of service to so many. We were all blessed to be part of his life. Rest in peace good and faithful servant. He will be placed in the Franciscan’s mausoleum at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Thanks for your kind words this week. They were comforting. May God be with us all and may we be as ready as Bill was to meet Him face to face. “The purpose of life is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." — Ralph Waldo Emerson
