Bus Pass Walkers on water

Backblipped on Friday 7/7.  Monday's blip also posted now.  Canal boat hired from Snaygill Boats, and the Bus Pass Walkers set out accompanied by honorary members A & K.  Fine weather for our trip, and coffee and treats were soon set out.  Set off towards Skipton but after the canal basin the first bridge was out of order.  A few phone calls made by AuntieP, and a man from the Canals & River Trust appeared, but unfortunately it couldn't be rectified.  So we turned around and went back the other way. We pulled in for a lunch stop, but due to the canal having dropped by a foot due to a problem at Gargrave it was hard not to get stuck in silt. Quite a bit of use of the barge pole today! After lunch we set off again, and went as far as we could before turning round to return to the boatyard. Just as we arrived we had a bit of a collision and then got stuck in silt and the boatyard chap had to come across to help to release us, but we got back unscathed!  :-0)) My arms ached tonight from pulling ropes!  A few more photos in extras.
