Flossmo

Back blip for yesterday

Rather unusually, soon after 6 am, Mr Flossmo got up.  I gave in and got up too. By 7:45 we had breakfasted, washed, dressed, packed up, tidied the cottage and packed the car. We decided we might as well set off, especially given that there was a storm coming in from the west.

The roads were quiet and we made excellent progress down to the M4 and then east on the motorway. We had a few spots of rain but nothing that the wipers couldn't cope with.

We were back home by 11am to a happy reunion with Sky who seemed none the worse for a week alone (with a twice daily visit from a carer) but who was definitely pleased to see us. There was no cold shoulder just a head butt and lots of purring.

Within an hour of getting home there were rumbles of thunder and a substantial downpour of rain.  We had definitely outrun the storm by quite a small margin. We waited until the storm had passed before emptying the car and sorting out our stuff.

We managed to get three loads of washing through the machine and caught up on mails and messages and a bit of tennis. I did a quick tour of the garden and was pleased to see that everything had survived a week of natural watering.

It's nice to go on holiday but nice to come home. After a week of a cat-free bed I was happy to have Sky at my feet once more.

The blip is a photograph through the frosted bedroom window in the cottage.
